The urge to get the first goal finally came via Richmond Lamptey. The midfielder fed on George Mfegue’s pass inside the box and delivered a shot which was blocked but he hit in the rebound into the net.

As the scores changed to 1 - 0 for Asante Kotoko, the home side maintained their balance and momentum as George Mfegue had his shot blocked by goalkeeper Osei Kwadwo.
