Asante Kotoko's Cameroonian import Frank Etouga Mbella is set to miss three games in the run-in to the season's finale as his club chase the championship.

Mbella, 21, has been invited to the Cameroonian national team for the AFCON 2023 qualifiers next month and is set to sit out three of Kotoko's last five fixtures in the ongoing Ghana Premier League, GPL competition.

The striker is due to report to the national team camp on May 30, 2022 to prepare for Cameroon's qualifier with Burundi.

Kotoko are due to play Medeama SC, AshantiGold SC, Accra Great Olympics, Elmina Sharks and Accra Lions before the season ends.

Their game with Medeama SC is on Sunday at Tarkwa, the day Etouga Mbella is due to report to the national team camp.

It remains to be seen whether Kotoko will allow the player to leave after the game or he will play a part before his departure.

The Porcupines are aiming to win the diadem this season and, they are in good stead as they lead the standing by six points.

They need to win seven points from a possible 15 to claim the title, and, they will need all of their trusted arsenal to be on hand as they seek the ultimate.

Etouga Mbella is the leading marksman in the ongoing competition with 19 goals, and, his absence could hinder the progress of Kotoko as they go for the title.

With the program released by the Cameroonian FA, Etouga Mbella is due to return to Ghana in time for Asante Kotoko's last game of the season against Accra Lions and, the Porcupines will hope be then, they had rapped up the title challenge.
