Today, Parliament discussed the poor performance of Black Stars during the ongoing AFCON 2022 games. The Member of Parliament for the Adansi Asokwa constituency, Honorable Kobina Tahir Hammond also gave his submission on this discussion. He recalled a sad event that happened during the 2007/2008 AFCON games which led to the worsening of his relationship with one of the former black star players.
"Asamoah Gyan reported to me to President Kuffour that I had made statements to the effect that they were messing with our hearts. So Mr. Kuffour, then President, should do whatever was in power to punish me. I was not there but you know that walls have ears. Those who were there came to tell me that I was in trouble.
"I waited for a call from President Kuffour but it never came because he got too many international things on his mind. I have never been happy and have never forgotten what he did to me.", he added.
