Mohammed Salisu who plays his club football with Southampton has now reportedly agreed to play for the Senior National Team after several failed attempts to get him to do so. He has been called upon by the GFA several times but has always turned down the offer. Mohammed Salisu said he was not ready to play for the Black Stars even after the GFA President, Kurt Okraku 'chased him down' to England to speak with him. Salisu's footballing career so far has been a solid one. He played Real Valladolid in the Spanish League playing fr the reserve side before he made a breakthrough to the first team in 2019. After making 33 appearances in the club, he joined Southampton in 2020 for 10.9 million euros.

The 23-year-old was capped 34 times for Southampton last season and he has been very remarkable.
