Hearts of Oak Lose Another Player to Premier League Side

One man’s meat is another man’s poison like they say in a local palance and that has happened to Accra Hearts of Oak even before the 2022/23 Ghana Premier League starts.

The Phobians could not retain their league title they won last two seasons - losing the league title to arch rivals, Kumasi Asante Kotoko last season.

The Phobians however managed to claim the 2021/22 MRN FA Cup after coming from a goal down to beat Bechem United 2-1 at the Kumasi Baba Yara Sports Stadium.

The Phobians will now return to the 2022/23 CAF Confederation Cup after claiming their record 12th FA Cup and must learn from their previous failure.

Hearts of Oak suffered eliminations in the CAF Champions League and the CAF Confederation Cup at the last playoff stages where they shipped in 10 goals and scored four times.

Hearts of Oak have also dispensed with the services of some players and those players have been at free to look for clubs.

One of the players who has secured a new club is long serving defender, Larry Sumaila.

The right back has now joined Samartex, the newly promoted Ghana Premier League club which recently roped in the services of former Great Olympics coach, Annor Walker.
