UEFA Champions League, known as European Cup until 1992, is the most prestigious Club League in Europe featuring the best teams in Europe and held annually.
It was established in 1955 and the inaugural 1995-96 season was won by Real Madrid, who actually won the first five editions.
A total number of 22 teams have won the League since inception. But there are a few teams in the list of winners which might come as a surprise to you.
Here we take a look at eight teams you never thought had won the Champions League before.
Red Star Belgrade
The Serbian football club, based in Belgrade, are the only Serbian club to have won the Champions League/ European Cup after winning the title in the 1990-91 season.
They defeated French side, Olympiqué Marseille 5-3 on penalties.

PSV
This might not be a too surprising inclusion but it is worthy of mention here. The team is one of the only three Dutch sides that have won the European Cup/ Champions League.

Steaua Bucuresti
The Bucharest based Romanian side, now known as FCSB, defeated Barcelona 2-0 on penalties after a 0-0 draw in the final of the 1985-86 season.
They made it to the final again three years later in 1989 before they were defeated by Milan.

Hamburg
German side Hamburg who are now relegated in the German domestic League won the trophy in 1983 defeating Juventus 1-0 in the final.

Aston Villa
The English side which returned to the English top tier division last season have won the UEFA Champions League once.
The Villans defeated Bayern 1-0 in Rotterdam in 1982 to win the trophy.

Nottingham forest.
Nottingham forest have the third highest number of Champions League titles in England after Manchester United and Liverpool with two European Cups.
They won the two titles in two successive years between 1979 and 1980.
They defeated Malmo in Munich in 1979 and Hamburg in Madrid in 1980.

Celtic
Celtic is a Football Club playing in the Scottish first division called Scottish Championship.
They have won the champions league once making them the only Scottish side to have won the trophy and one of the only six clubs to have won the trophy in the United Kingdom.

Feyenoord
The Dutch side won Celtic 2-1 in the 1970 final in Milan after extra time. Feyenoord are among the three Dutch Clubs to have won the Champions League, and only Ajax, with four, have more champions League than them in the Eredivisie.
