Veteran Sports Broadcaster Sometymer Otuo Acheampong, has quashed President Akufo-Addo's visit to the Black Star camp in Qatar ahead of their encounter with Portugal in the ongoing FIFA Word Cup.
Before today's game, Nana Addo is scheduled to speak and motivate the technical team and the playing body.
But the ace sports journalist, speaking on Oyerepa Breakfast Time, oppugned the president's visit to Qatar. He said the visit is irrelevant because he could have spoken with the players via zoom.
"What is the president going to do there?" "Usually, what most presidents do is that they speak with the players via Zoom." Joe Biden spoke with US players on Zoom.
"Perhaps the president has something to do there, and he would just pass by; if not, he doesn't have to be there; he can inspire them on Zoom; it's not necessary for him to be there," Sometymer told Kwesi Parker-Wilson, host of the show.
Ghana is in Group H with Portugal, Uruguay, and South Korea.
Ghanaian football fans are hoping the Black Stars will beat Portugal in their second meeting on Thursday evening.
