Why Maguire and Ronaldo Should Be Dropped in the Manchester Derby

Manchester United takes on the league leaders, Manchester City in the Etihad Stadium in greater Manchester tomorrow. This League encounter to both teams are a must win to each sides.

On the other side of the coin, Manchester United’s duo, Harry Maguire and Cristiano Ronaldo has come under a serious scrutiny with criticisms by a section of United fanatics and the football compatriots.

Many believe that United’s skipper, Harry Maguire’s form in recent times calls for him to rest on the bench till he regains his form. This, the Red Devil’s manager thinks otherwise. Why? At the back of the fact that he is the Club’s captain.

Maguire’s recovery after loosing possession is very poor comparing to Raphael Varane who is compact in his recent games. With this, clearly Paul Merson at Sky Sports Super Sunday

show feels no reason must he start.

Again, the Portuguese start is gradually loosing out of the charisma and character many felt he is known for.

Ronaldo has scored only one goal in his last 10 games for the Red Devil’s side who are desperate to keep their fourth position intact.

Though only Mohammed Salah of Liverpool has created many chances(99) than the Portuguese striker(79).

With his current form and a red card in the last fixture with the Sky Blues, and the return of Edison Cavani, Paul Merson thinks it’ll only take a miracle to have him start against the Uruguayan.
