Chelsea Books Champions League Semi Final Spot Despite Defeat

The London based club has qualified to the next stage of the champions league after beating their Portuguese counterpart 2-1 on aggregate.

The Blues took a 2-0 win into the second leg with goals from Mason Mount and Ben Chilwell all but ending Porto's run in this season's Champions league. Chelsea's defense which had been a much discussed topic since Thomas Tuchel took over put in another resilient display and limited Porto to only one shot in the entire match. That shot came in the 94th minute and resulted in the only goal of the match.

Porto's goal came at a point a little late where any dream of mounting an upset in the second leg was all but lost. Porto was much revered in this season's Champions league after eliminating Italian champions and Cristiano Ronaldo's Juventus.

Chelsea will face either Real Madrid or Liverpool depending on the outcome of their match and will be hoping to make the champions league final again since 2012. Thomas Tuchel and his boys will look to quickly turn their attention to this weekend as they face Manchester City at Wembley in the FA cup semi finals and will be hoping to get the double this season. Are you confident of the double as a Chelsea fan? Leave your replies in the comments section.
