Promotion chasers Mid City FC of Kumasi moved second on the table in the ongoing Ashanti regional Second Division League which is into the second round.
Mid City FC have won their opening two games in the second round of the campaign as they sit second on the log behind leaders First Klass FC by two points with most of the second round still to play.
They have 18 points from the nine matches they have played in the eight matches they have played so far as Mid City FC seeks to gain qualification to the regional middle league which leads to qualification to the national Division One League.
In the nine matches the club has played, Mid City FC have won six and lost three with five more matches to end the zonal league season.
The club has scored 14 goals and conceded eight, making it a goal difference of plus six going into the next round of matches at the weekend.
In third position on the table are Sporti Talent who have 16 points with Thunderbolt FC in fourth position with 15 points whilst Kozoya FC (13), Galaxy (10), Universal Soccer Elites (7) and Juda FC (3), follow in that order on the table.
Mid City FC are hopeful of mounting a serious challenge for qualification in the five matches that remain in the zonal league.
The eight teams in the Ashanti regional Second Division Zone Two league play their matches at the Ejisu Forestry Park near Kumasi on match days.
