Ghana Football Association appoints Otto Addo as coach, Chris Hughton as Technical Advisor.

The search for a substantive coach for the senior national team the Black Stars rages on. We have barely two and a half months to our next major assignment. The final eliminator for the world cup in Qatar is a stone throw away. Ghana will be battling their West African neighbors Nigeria for a slot to Qatar. We need to put a team together early enough for that encounter. Both Ghana and Nigeria had a tournament to forget in Cameroon. The Black Stars went out in the group stage whiles the Super Eagles went a step further before they were knocked out by Tunisia.

We received the breaking news yesterday that the FA has appointed Otto Addo as coach and then Chris Hughton was appointed as the technical advisor. George Boateng and Didi Dramani were also appointed as assistant coaches. It doesn't make sense to me though. Looking at the pedigree of Hughton and Otto Addo, who should be appointed as the head coach? It is surprising. What then becomes of the role of the GFA technical director? Does that mean he has been relieved of his duties or what? Are those at the helm of affairs of the FA really serious at all?

The Kurt Okraku led FA are not remorseful at all. After such an abysmal outing in Cameroon it is only right for them to come and apologise to Ghanaians. Ot is our the Ghanaian tax payers money that was used on the team. He is still adamant. All interviews Kurt granted after the tournament smacks of arrogance and disrespect. We were all thinking that by now they should be planning a way to overhaul the sinking Ghana Football. Football in Ghana shouldn't be about black stars alone. We have all the other junior national teams. Coaches of the junior teams haven't been paid for 2 years. Our national league doesn't have a sponsor currently. Things are going bad and those at the FA are looking on unconcerned.

If they don't sit up, football in this country will sink to a depth that it will become irrepearable. Barring what happens at the final world cup qualifiers, Ghana Football must show signs of improvement and it all depends on what the Ghana Football Association will do from now onwards.
