Karela United’s quest to remain in top six on the 2021/22 Ghana Premier League table was given a jolt by Berekum Chelsea on Saturday.
Karela head coach, Bismark Kobbi-Mensah, who was satisfied with the team’s performance despite the slim loss, attributes the defeat to the poor nature of the pitch. “I’m satisfied with the performance because we came in with a tactical plan and it worked especially in the first half. “If you look at the way we conceded the goal, that is bad.
“But seriously after that we fought back, my boys did well, it’s one of those things. “Coming here we knew it from the beginning that, it’s one of the difficult grounds, the field is not good for our style. “So I know that definitely we were going to have problems playing here, that is why we changed our style. “But it worked, it’s only that we should have taken the lead from Kelvin Andoh, it’s one of those things.” Bismark Kobbi-Mensah told StarTimes.
Berekum Chelsea substitute, Emmanuel Sarpong got the only goal of the week 20 clash at the Golden City Park with 48 minutes played. Karela United remain in 9th position with 28 points after 20 games, awaiting the remaining fixture by other clubs to be cleared which could further sink them down the log.
