GPL update: Who makes it into the top-four, will it be Hearts of Oak or Karela United?

The 2021/22 Ghana Premier League, GPL competition ends this weekend as the Matchday 34 matches are cleared across all centres.

The GPL title has already been won by Asante Kotoko who celebrated their 26th top-flight success this season.

Entry into the top-four of this season's competition is now down to two clubs as Hearts of Oak and Karela United battle for the final spot.

The Phobians will host Real Tamale United, RTU on Sunday at the Accra Sports Stadium knowing they need to win this fixture to stand in with a chance of finishing in the top-four of the competition.

Victory for the capital club and a draw or defeat for Karela United will see Hearts leapfrog them on the table to close the campaign in the top-four.

However, Karela United can make their position safe if they beat relegation strugglers WAFA at the Crossby Awuah Memorial, CAM Park in Anyinase on Sunday.

They lead Hearts of Oak by a point going into this weekend's round of matches, and, they need to march the result of the Phobians this weekend to finish above them.

Hearts' game with RTU in Accra is of equal importance as the visitors need to win to keep their status as a GPL side for next season and, they will not be easy pushovers for the Phobians.

Karela United will fancy their chances of getting the three points in their game with WAFA at the CAM Park in Anyinase where they are unbeaten this season.

The stakes are really high for both Hearts of Oak and Karela United going into this weekend's last round of matches in the GPL, and, we wait to see how it will play out on Sunday.
