Hearts of Oak Star Left in Pain And Agony After Derby Defeat

Hearts of deputy captain, Mohammed Alhassan has been left in pain after they lost 1-0 to Great Olympics.

The defending champions were pegged back by their city rivals last Sunday in week 16 of the 2021/22 Ghana Premier League at the Accra Sports Stadium. Hearts of Oak were shocked on the 30th minute courtesy Abdul Razak Yusif’s solitary strike. Mohammed Alhassan who was in central defence alongside, Robert Addo Sowah expressed his sadness after the loss.

“They [Great Olympics] had their chance and they took it and we had ours and it didn’t go our way. “So, we go back to the drawing board, the mistakes we did then we correct and focus on the next match,” Mohammed Alhassan said. “[Defeat] not good at all but it’s part of the game because in the game of football it’s three things, you win, you draw or you lose. “We had one which is a loss and it wasn’t something we are happy about. “Everyone is down but it’s never over yet. When you look at the team right now, we are at our peak but not at our best. “So we go back, do our correction and focus on our next game.” Mohammed Alhassan said.

The Phobians have gathered six wins, five losses and four defeats in the 16 week old league. They have 23 points seated in 7th on the league table but have a week seven outstanding match against rivals, Asante Kotoko on February 20. They will however travel up North as guests of premier league returnees, Real Tamale United at the Aliu Mahama Stadium.
