Ahead of super clash on Sunday, Asante are set to test their strength and preparedness against Karela United at the home, tomorrow.
Coach Mariano Barreto, despite a desire to beat Accra Hearts of Oak on Sunday, is tipped to deploy his best materials for tomorrow’s task. Playing at the Len Clay Stadium, Asante Kotoko will hit the ground running right after the sound of the whistle.
From goalkeeper to the last man upfront, each player will be required to execute his mandate devoid of blunders and excuses. Fans favorite Fabio Gama is expected to take up his usual place on the field, drive the team forward by way of making balls available for the arrow head to score. Fabio Gama will not be alone as he will be aided on the lines by Augustine Okrah and Evans Adomako, who found the back of the net against lower-tier side Thunderbolt FC in the FA Cup. Behind him, could be Mudasiru Salifu and Emmanuel Keyekeh whose duty will be to intercept balls and lay solid passes for a surge. Francis Andy Kumi, if handed a starting role, will be relied upon to make chances count and avoid profligacy. Successive wins over Inter Allies and Thunderbolt might have boosted the morale of Asante Kotoko.
Karela United - despite playing away - will come looking for honors in Obuasi. In their game against AshantiGold at the same venue this season, coach Augustine Addotey and his lads managed to pick a point. They will tackle this game with all the seriousness it deserves. Striker Diawisie Taylor, Kwame Boateng and Richard Berko will keep an eye on goals and points as well. They could open up and go in for the ball as may be embarked upon by Asante Kotoko.
Victory is vital for both teams based on the aspirations of both sides. Asante Kotoko are in dire need of points of the their title hopes intact, whiles Karela United demand points to maintain their top four ambitions.
