The experienced trainer led his side to pip the Royals by 1-0 in week three of the 2021/22 Ghana Premier League at the Accra Sports Stadium on Saturday. The “Dade Boys” got their goal from a well worked out exchange from midfield, down to the right wing before striker, Maxwell Abbey Quaye slotted home the only goal of the game at 22 minutes. Midfielder, James Akaminko began the layoff to the far right for right back Philip Sackey to sweep in a low cross for Maxwell Abbey’s goal.
The “Wonder Club” held on to the lead until full time to claim all three points - which is their second win in three games. Annor Walker said: “Of course yes, it’s a relief because I thought I was going to win this match at least with a two-three margin but it wasn’t like that. “I didn’t get it the way I wanted so in all I give thanks to the Almighty,” Annor Walker said after their slim 1-0 win over Legon Cities FC. “I’m happy and I give thanks to God because it’s not easy playing three matches and getting seven points so in all I give thanks.” Annor Walker added.
The victory gives Great Olympics seven points from four games. A 1-1 draw against Real Tamale United in the opening game at the Aliu Mahama Stadium and two subsequent wins on Accra Lions[3-1] and Legon Cities [1-0] were enough to send Great Olympics into second with other games set to be cleared on Sunday.
