Caf President Patrice Motsepe on Sunday, July 3rd announced at a press conference in Morocco that the 34th Edition of the caf African cup of nations which was scheduled to take place between June 23rd and July 23rd has been postponed to January 2024

This decision comes right after the Confederation of African Football executive committee meeting which was held on Sunday July 3rd. The main reason slated for this change in schedule is the weather conditions that is likely to happen in Ivory Coast during the period of the tournament. There is high rainfall expectancy which the Caf board after talks with expects believes will be greater obstacle for the tournament
Patrice Motsepe stated that it will be bad for the whole continent to play such tournament with high risk that rainfall can wash it. He however applauded Ivory Coast for showing greater commitment towards hosting the tournament.
Sooner or later, Caf will release the actual date and all the schedule for the new date
