Super Eagles fans roast keeper after Ghana dump Nigeria

The 23-year-old was unable to save Thomas Partey's attempt for the Black Stars, resulting in the Super Eagles missing out on a World Cup ticket.

On Tuesday, Nigeria supporters were split when goalkeeper Francis Uzoho surrendered the away goal that allowed Ghana to qualify for the 2022 World Cup finals.

The Super Eagles needed to win the return leg play-off match at MKO Abiola National Stadium in Abuja after drawing 0-0 in the first encounter at Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi, but instead drew 1-1, allowing the Black Stars to qualify on the away goals rule.

Many Nigerian supporters were taken aback when Uzoho, who plays for Cypriot team Omonia FC, failed to deal with a shot from Ghana's Thomas Partey in the 10th minute.

The Arsenal midfielder got a ball from the left side and from beyond the area, blasted a right-footed shot that Uzoho couldn't save, sneaking through his legs for the crucial away goal.

Since Vincent Enyeama resigned from international football on October 8, 2015, after 101 caps for the Super Eagles, Nigeria fans think they have yet to find a world-class goalkeeper.

The following is how Twitter responded to Uzoho's howler.

Is the victory of Black stars due to the incompetence of keeper Uzoho? Comment below.
