Ghanaian champions Asante Kotoko were bundled out of CAF Champions League yesterday, courtesy penalty shootouts. The defeat has revealed a record made by the Kumasi-based club in recent games that involve penalty kicks.


Per records, Asante Kotoko have been involved in 12 penalty shootouts in Africa. The Porcupine Warriors have now lost all 12.
Burkina Faso club RC Kadiogo handed a surprise to Asante Kotoko by eliminating them from Africa inter club competition through penalties. This was after a 1 - 1 aggregate score.


RC Kadiogo made their intentions clear from the blast of the whistle and eventually scored a goal in the first half.
Asante Kotoko made various efforts to equalize but that could not go through.
After wasting several chances by both teams, RC Kadiogo ended the game with the only goal.
On penalty kicks, Asante Kotoko opened their account through Mubarek Yussif but ended with only one while RC Kadiogo scored three penalties.
RC Kadiogo advance to the next stage of the competition.
