The Argentine and Barcelona forward Lionel Andres Messi is debatably the Greatest Footballer Of All Time. He is widely known for his acts of humility, kindness, and loyalty to Barcelona, his teammates, and the fans.
Yesterday, the Catalan Giants Barcelona hosted Getafe at Camp Nou. Messi scored a brace in the first half of the game. At halftime, the scores stood at three goals, to one in favor of football club Barcelona.
In the second half, during injury time, Barcelona was awarded a penalty for a foul committed on Antoine Greizmann. Although Messi is the number one set-piece taker of Barcelona, he kindly sacrificed an opportunity to score a hat-trick and gave the ball to Greizmann to take the penalty.
Why did he do this? Messi does this to encourage his teammates and help boost their confidence on the pitch. We have seen him replicate this kind gesture on several occasions. He did that with Neymar, Coutinho, Dembélé, Greizmann and other players.
In 2016, Messi performed an incredible and unforgettable gesture of kindness. He assisted Suarez in a penalty against Celta Vigo in a 6-1 victory at Camp Nou. According to Messi, he practiced taking the penalty with Neymar in training. But on that day, Suarez was close to the ball than Neymar.
Messi has always considered the well-being of his teammates and does everything he can to encourage them. He has the team at heart and is willing to do everything to do help the team grow.
