Accra Hearts Of Oak Exempted From First Round Of 2022/23 CAF Confederation Cup

Ghana Premier League giants Accra Hearts of Oak have been exempted from the first preliminary round of 2022/23 CAF Confederation Cup. The Ghanaian representative is part of thirteen clubs that have been granted the opportunity to skip the first preliminary round of the competition.

Clubs such as USM Alger, JS Saoura, Pyramids, Accra Hearts of Oak amongst others will not take part of the first preliminary stage of Confederation Cup. Instead of the first preliminary games, they will be starting from the next round of matches.

Accra Hearts of Oak and Asante Kotoko are Ghana’s representatives in this year’s CAF inter club competitions. Asante Kotoko will be featuring in CAF Champions League for winning 2021/22 Ghana Premier League.

Accra Hearts of Oak, on the other hand, are billed for CAF Confederation Cup as a result of their triumph in Ghana’s FA Cup.

The two clubs promise be competitive in their respective competitions and make an impact rather than mere part takers.

The lates CAF club rankings which started from 2018, captured Ghana’s Asante Kotoko and Aduana Stars. Accra Hearts of Oak could not make it to the list. Asante Kotoko placed 56th with 2 points while Aduana Stars were 75th with 0.5 point.
