Ole Gunnar Solskjaer criticisms of Manchester United poor performance in a forgettable draw at Palce

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, Manchester United manager was less happy for his side’s lacklustre performance against crystal palace.

The Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer couldn't hide his feelings and therefore wasted no time to downplay the poor, lacklustre and lakaidaisical nature of the way his side, the Red devil's played in their 0-0 draw with Crystal Palace who are suffering a serious injury set back in the Premier League on Wednesday night.

There were few to no real point blank goal scoring chances created by each team as they aboth sought to protect and defend rather than press high and attack although United had the the best part of the game, they were unable to nail it down with a goal which has become of them lately with the likes of Rashford and Martial lossing their goal scoring edge. With a chance to put pressure on Pep Guardiola's Manchester City who currently sit comfortably at the top of the table, the chance was missed in thoroughly forgettable game and United who gathered real momentum in their previous fixtures, playing unbeaten in all their away games prior to this game has now won just one game from five as the chase for a top four finish spikes up by the top sides who continue fight in a bid to secure Champions League football.

Solskjaer stated that the Manchester United made it difficult for them to play play their game as the game plan wasn't well executed today but a lack of momentum from the start and creativity about the teams total game play caused them the win today, also the sloppy nature of United game play wasn't left out as Ole stated that it was the ultimate and biggest limiting factor to a game in which they managed to get a lone shot on goal.

"A disappointing performance. A little bit off and when you’re off, if you’re not spot on you’re not going to win games,” Ole Gunnar Solskjaer told Sky Sports.

“Palace make it hard for you and they did again. We were too slow, second half we never got going, we made a few changes and made one or two chances but not enough of course.

“Sometimes it’s human nature, sometimes you don’t work at your best. Today we didn’t. It’s been a long season so that’s part of it and you’re playing against a good team which make you play the way you don’t want to.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer quoted in his post match interview “We kept giving the ball away. First half we had players in the right positions and built some pressure, made some half-decent chances but kept giving it away easily and then you don’t build momentum.

“It’s not what we want but we’re in the Premier League and you have to play better to win games. We’re in a battle to be as high as possible in the table and we need to pick every point we can.”

The best chance of the game fell to Patrick van Aanholt late on, but stand-in goalkeeper Dean Henderson made a good block. Solskjaer praised the reliability of his second-choice, and said there was no timeframe on David de Gea’s return, after missing the match for personal reasons.

“That’s a Man United goalkeeper. You have to keep your concentration and he’s growing into it. I thank him for one point and not zero" said Ole Gunnar Solskjaer in his post match interview.
