The black stars coach decided to drop the leading goal scorer of the Ghana Premier league from the national team.
However, he choose to be added to the team a player from the the 4th tier of the English league whose team is languishing on the 21st position of their league.
Sports journalist and football fans alike are mad at the coach, demanding explanation for this decision. In the words of Gary Al Smith, (paraphrased), every Ghanaian deserves a call up to the national team but a player in the 4th division of any league in the world, SHOULD NOT be called to the national team. Saddick Adams describes it as unjustified and a dent on the national team and local league.
Even Hearts of Oak will be disappointed that a player from the 4th tier of the English league was chosen ahead of all their players.
So, how Kwame Afriyie Poku of Colchester in the 4th division of the English league made his way into the Black Stars is a good question.
