1.Erling Braut Haaland will be announced as a Manchester City player this week after passing his medical, according to a report. The 21-year-old, who is expected to leave Borussia Dortmund this summer, is arguably the most sought-after striker in Europe, with the Citizens believed to be leading the race for his signature. According to journalist Fabrizio Romano, Haaland is currently in Dortmund where he passed his medical on Monday and an official announcement of his move to the Etihad Stadium will be made this week.
Romano adds that Man City have informed Dortmund that they will activate the striker's release clause in 'the next few hours' which is valued at around €60m (£51.4m) rather than the previously reported €75m (£64.2m). Haaland is understood to have pushed for the move to be finalised this week as he wished to say farewell to the Dortmund supporters before the end of this season. Romano has also added that Haaland has agreed to put pen to paper on a five-year contract and will earn no more than City's highest earner Kevin De Bruyne, who is currently pocketing around £375,000 per week. Haaland, who has also been linked with La Liga giants Barcelona and Real Madrid, has been in sensational goalscoring form since joining BVB from Red Bull Salzburg in 2020, scoring 85 times in 88 appearances across all competitions.
2. Real Madrid target Kylian Mbappe has been spotted in the Spanish capital amid rumours over a potential summer switch to the Santiago Bernabeu. The 23-year-old, who will see his Paris Saint-Germain contract expire next month, is allegedly keen to join Los Blancos and is willing to take a pay cut in order to complete a move to Carlo Ancelotti's side. With such little time remaining on his contract, Mbappe's appearance in Madrid has sparked speculation that the Frenchman is in the city to negotiate a transfer to Real.Spanish news outlet Cope have posted an image of Mbappe entering a restaurant in Madrid on Monday afternoon with PSG teammate Achraf Hakimi. The report adds that both players arrived at the restaurant with two other people, with Hakimi accompanied by his brother. Mbappe has since taken to Instagram to post an image of himself in Madrid with his barber Brice Tchaga and Hakimi. Mbappe, who has recorded 35 goals and 23 assists in 43 appearances for PSG across all competitions, is believed to be enjoying a break away with Hakimi, before the pair return to first-team training later this week ahead of Saturday's Ligue 1 clash with Montpelier.
3.The agent of Red Bull Salzburg striker Karim Adeyemi has revealed that his client has rejected a move to Manchester United in favour of joining Borussia Dortmund this summer. The 20-year-old is believed to be edging closer to a move to Dortmund for around €38m (£32.5m), with only his contract and paperwork to be signed before the deal can be finalised. Man United are understood to have attempted to hijack Dortmund's deal for Adeyemi and were prepared to pay the Germany international £150,000 per week. However, the player's agent, Thomas Solomon, has since confirmed to journalist Fabrizio Romano that the forward has snubbed a move to Old Trafford, stating: "We're now close to complete the deal with Borussia Dortmund. There will be no release clause included into his five-year deal. "[Ralf] Rangnick? Yes, Manchester United wanted to enter the race - but we want BVB". With Erling Braut Haaland move to Manchester City, Adeyemi is set to replace the Norway international at the Westfalenstadion. Adeyemi has been a standout performer for the Austrian champions this season, scoring 23 goals and providing eight assists in 42 appearances across all competitions.
