Brazilian International Fabio Gama Da Silva Dos Santos has explained the reason behind his decision to play in the Ghana Premier League for Asante Kotoko. He sees Asante Kotoko as the biggest club in Ghana.
“I decided because I see Kotoko is the biggest and the best club in Ghana.”
In an interview with Pure Sports he further stated that he has been enjoying Jollof rice ever since he joined Asante Kotoko. The dish has become his favorite.
Speaking on his stay in Asante Kotoko, the playmaker hinted that he may extend his contract when it expires.
“Yes I will love to stay.”
On the difference between Ghana and his native country Brazil, Fabio Gama gave an insight.
“The difference is the quality technical. In Brazil they are more technical than Ghana.”
He believes there was the need for him and his family to adapt to Ghanaian lifestyle upon arrival.
“When we came to Ghana, we have to learn quickly about Ghana. When we go to market, they make us happy. Sometimes we have to go out and know new places. I know Adum and other places.”
He gave an explanation about his religious life in Ghana.
“I am a Christian. I go to church but in Ghana I have not been to church. Sometimes we have matches on those days, so I have not go to church in Ghana.”
Speaking on his achievement in football, he added,
“My greatest achievement is the national team. I played for the Brazil under 20.”
On his role model, Fabio Gama named Cristiano Ronaldo as the person he looks up to because of his work rate.
He pointed out WAFA as a difficult side to play with ever since joining Asante Kotoko.
“WAFA team. They play good football as an academy.”
He added that he maintains a good relationship with Kwame Opoku before the latter exited Asante Kotoko. He is sure Kwame Opoku will fly high in his new club.
