4 Elite Players To Help Ghana Win 1st Ever AFCON After 13 Years Of Drought

It has been a whopping 13 years since the Black Stars of Ghana won the African Cup of Nations trophy. The last time Ghana won the AFCON was in 2008 in Egypt.

However, hope is not totally lost as we have a lot of quality players overseas who could actually help the team achieve this goal in a very short period of time.

The Black Stars team isn't that bad but I think it needs just few additions to make it whole.

I will suggest few players who can actually do the magic for us.

1. Callum Hudson Odoi

Callum Hudson Odoi had a very tremendous season at Chelsea this season, developing very well under the new manager Thomas Tuchel. Above all, Hudson Odoi was part of the team that won Chelsea the UEFA Champions League this season. That's enough to judge him. Unfortunately, he missed the England National team which means he has the opportunity to switch nationality to Ghana and it all lies in the hands of a competent, persuasive Coach.

2. Inaki Williams

The Athletic Bilbao forward was also fantastic all season round, the only player who hasn't missed any match for Athletic Club this season. A partnership with any of the Ayew brothers will rock the AFCON. He has missed the Spanish call up.

3. Mohammed Salisu

Since joining Southampton in the Premier League this season, Mohammed Salisu has made decent defensive record and a call up to the National team will be disastrous.

4. Tariq Lamptey

The former Chelsea wonderkid, making waves at Brighton and Holves Albion has missed the England National team call up. His pace and defensive abilities wouldn't be so bad.
