The Ghana Football Association President(GFA), Mr. Kurt Okraku in an interview with TV3 New Day today has commented on whether or not the Football Association will sack Coach Milovan Rajevac after the abysmal performance of the Black Stars at the just ended African Cup Of Nations (AFCON).
While speaking to TV3 on what has now become a national conversation on even political platforms, that is the abysmal performance of the Stars at the AFCON 2021, the GFA President has said he's not sure whether or not Coach Milovan Rajevac will be sacked and that they just arrived in Ghana so there has to be a lot of consultations before they decide to sack him or not.
When he was asked a direct question of whether Milovan was going to stay or be sacked. The GFA President, Kurt Okraku said " If I heard you clearly, we just arrived at dawn, we've not engaged key stakeholders, we've not met as an Executive Committee but it's important for all of us to go through all of these with cool heads. We believe that we have the men to make all those decisions."
Moreover, the GFA President also justified his stand that Coach Milovan Rajevac is the best foreign Coach the country has ever seen and so we should support the coach in these difficult times.
" Coach Milovan is the best foreign coach Ghana has ever had because, in 2009, he was our supervisor for the U20 Black Stars that won the World Cup in Egypt. In 2010, he went to the AFCON Grand Final and was a losing finalist and he took Ghana to the Quarterfinals of the World Cup, and based on that, he holds the best record concerning foreign coaches who have been in Ghana. Such a person deserves our support in these difficult times." GFA President told Johnnie Hughes on TV3 New Day.
However, Ghanaians all around the world have said Milovan Rajevac cannot even last a week more at his position because he has failed woefully as the coach of Black Stars overseeing the worst performance of the Black Stars in a very long time.
They were, therefore, expecting the FA President to give hope that Milovan Rajevac will be sacked after the necessary consultations with key stakeholders like the Sports Ministry.
Top renowned and experienced journalists like Oti Adjei, Saddick Adams, and Fentuo Tahiru have consistently shared the same views of Ghanaians that coach Milovan should be sacked as soon as possible because he was very poor at the tournament and cannot help us in any way as a coach.
What are your comments and thoughts for the GFA President Kurt Okraku??
