Should the 2023 African Cup of Nations Qualifiers be postponed?

The world cup in Qatar is drawing nearer. We have confirmed almost all the participants except a few that are yet to be decided. All the participants will be eager to make a lasting impact at the world cup especially the participants from Africa. They haven't really been doing well at the mundial. The last time an African country went far in the tournament was in 2010 when Ghana made it to the quarter finals.

We have gotten all our five representatives for Qatar 2022 already. But there is the qualification for Afcon 2023 coming up shortly. If we don't take a critical look at the qualifying schedule, countries may be forced to choose between playing at the world cup and participating in the Afcon next year. The Afcon 2023 qualifiers are set to be played in June and September. I belief that it will stress out the players and they might not be in the optimum condition for the world cup. Some of the African countries participating in the world cup are threatening to boycott the Afcon qualifiers of the qualifiers dates are not postponed. CAF needs to think through this to enable the countries to also prepare adequately for the world cup.
