Ghana Coach Makes Hot Revelations Ahead of Final AFCON Clash

Head coach of Ghana, Milovan Rajevac has made some revelations ahead of the final group c game against Comoros on Tuesday.

The Black Stars are faced with a must win situation against the Islanders in Garoua to stand a chance of qualifying for the round 16. The four time African champions lost their opener to Morocco when Soufiane Boufal’s 82nd minute strike separated the two sides. Hopes were high moving into the second group game against Gabon who were without top stars, Pierre Aubameyang and Mario Lemina who have since returned to their various clubs due to COVID-19 complications.

The Black Stars were unfortunate, relinquishing a 1-0 lead to draw 1-1 against the Panthers at the Ahmadou Ahidjo Stadium to decrease their chances of progressing into the round 16 stage. If Ghana lose to Comoros, it will be the first time they exit the group stage in the last two Africa Cup of Nations. Head coach, Milovan Rajevac has made the revelations before the team plays Comoros on Tuesday. “We don’t have the same team like 2010. Not enough time for preparations. We don’t have a player like Asamoah Gyan.”

Ghana have won the AFCON four times but are now chasing an ambition to end a 40-year trophy drought. The closest the side has come to the AFCON title was in Angola 2010 when they lost 1-0 in the finals to seven time champions, Egypt. Ghana had a fine opportunity to win the AFCON five years later but lost 9-8 on penalty shootouts to West Africa neighbors, Ivory Coast in Equatorial Guinea. A group stage exit will be a huge blow to the West African nation.
