Liverpool targets two defenders in January transfer window

Liverpool are back at it again, the recent reports suggest that, they have targeted these two defenders in the upcoming January transfer window. Injuries have disrupted their season so far, as they have lost Virgil van Dijk for the whole season, Fabinho for some weeks, Trent Alexander-Arnold for some week also and now Joe Gomez for some months. They cannot rely on academy and inexperienced player to defend their league title.

One player recently added to Liverpool’s wish list is Dayotchanculle Oswald Upamecano is a French professional footballer who plays as a central defender for RB Leipzig and the France national team. Born on October 27, 1998 (age 22 years), Évreux, France.

Upamecano is regarded as one of the rising center-backs in European football, he is strong, fast and energetic defender. He is know for his tackling and excellent reading of the game. He recently signed a new deal with RB Leipzig up to 2023 but many sports analysts believe he is ready to make a step up in his career. His value is between 40-50 million euros and the relationship between Liverpool and RV Leipzig will make the payment method easier.

Another player Liverpool are keen on registering in the transfer window is Daryl Janmaat who is a Dutch professional footballer who last played as a right back for Championship club Watford and the Netherlands national team. Born on July 22, 1989 (age 31 years), Leidschendam, Netherlands. Janmaat is now free agent and they will look forward to get him short term contract to sort out their defensive crisis. Reports suggest that, midfielder Gini Wijnaldum recommended Janmaat for Jurgen Klopp.
