Elmina Sharks Must Stay in The Premier League - Lamptey

Ghana Premier League club, Elmina Sharks have experienced a renaissance in the past few weeks of the 2020/21 Ghana Premier.

The club parted ways with head coach, Yaw Acheampong and his assistant, Felix Aboagye on the grounds of poor performance.

Ex-Ghana international, Odartey Lamptey was appointed to run the affairs of the club on temporary bases until the end of the season and has not done badly.

The former Royal Anderlecht midfielder has won three out of four matches since taking taking charge.

The 46-year-old recorded his biggest win Sharks defeated Asante Kotoko 1-0 at the Nduom Stadium.

Lamptey said of his vision for the club.

“I just took over some one month and it’s now that I’m getting to know the boys.

“But I’m happy maybe four matches I have been able to win three matches.

“Getting to know them day by day I’m sure and maybe by the end of the season I will get to know them or at the middle of the season.

“So as time goes on I’m changing you know reshuffling each player at certain position.

“As I said, my main objective is to let them win and stay in the premier league.”Odartey Lamptey said.

Elmina Sharks occupy a decent 12th position on the league table.

They collected nine points out of their last four games which keeps them on 26 points.

They have a journey to make to Accra for their week 21 fixture against Inter Allies.
