Season Wrap: The Details Behind 2020/21 FA Cup Final

Accra Hearts of Oak and AshantiGold have shown readiness to stage this year’s FA Cup final at the Accra Sports Stadium on Sunday.

The two teams have had a successful story to share with fans so far. Accra Hearts of Oak appear slightly comfortable ahead of the final game, after grabbing a ticket for CAF Champions League, the 2021/22 edition. But that is yet to fully satisfy their demanding teeming fans, who are calling for a double feat this season. The staunch and vociferous supporters have laid this enormous challenge, which has been duly acknowledged as the team snakes around the trophy. After their 3 - 0 semifinal victory over Medeama in Cape Coast, coach Samuel Boadu made it known, an unambiguous intentions of beating AshantiGold to the trophy. He sees no problem between his side and the miners, left with three points alone. He was quizzed about the three points and he happily indicted that, those points can only guarantee him the enviable and coveted trophy. But for the cash and trophy, nothing will have served as a mammoth motivating delight for them to battle for honors. They have had a massive turnaround in the second part of the season and they deserve to clamor for rest, but work goes on till the final day.

AshantiGold have fired a strong message to their opponent, reminding them of what they dash out to the champions in the season gone by. The miners claimed four out of six points, by picking a point in the capital and keeping all points in Obuasi. Coach Thomas Duah has served the players with a heartwarming message of winning the FA Cup to appease their following and conquer Confederation Cup. After running over Berekum Chelsea i semis, the former Ghanaian international charged players to make an indelible make for their future and the club’s success story. Thomas Duah also declared an intention of leading the club in CAF inter club competition. He sees himself as an ideal candidate competent enough to take spearhead the club to glory. AshantiGold are not giving credence to the controversies that overshadowed their victory over Inter Allies in the just ended season. Club Chief Executive Officer Emmanuel Frimpong, has called on the playing body to win and represent Ghana in Africa. These words may have pierced through the heart of players to go into the game with all seriousness.

The story sounds great for both clubs after appearing in the finals, but a winner will definitely be known regardless.
