Better days ahead: "Bread & milk was our daily food" - Lukaku reflects his past sufferings.

Jordan Zacharie Lukaku Menama Mokelenge (born 25 July 1994) is a Belgian professional footballer who plays as a left back for Belgian club Antwerp, on loan from Italian club Lazio, and the Belgium national team. His older brother, Romelu, is also a footballer and a Belgian international.

Jordan Zacharie Lukaku makes some impressive revelation about their past lives, which to me is worth sharing so that it will serve as a motivation and a drive to push people forward.

Lukaku:

"I still remember my mother making us food after school. She used to make bread with milk every day, that was the only food available.

One day I saw her mixing milk with water with a sad look in her eyes, I was only 6 years old. At the time, I felt it was the end. We used to spend days without water or electricity.”

Lukaku was born in Antwerp. His father is Roger Lukaku, who played professional football and was capped at international level by Zaire. He has an older brother, Belgium and Inter Milan striker Romelu Lukaku, who also progressed through the youth academy at Anderlecht. Their cousin Boli Bolingoli-Mbombo plays for Celtic.

While at the youth academy at Anderlecht, Jordan, along with Romelu, used to be picked by their father and took them to training every morning. Unlike his older brother, Jordan grew up supporting Arsenal.

From the heart of suffering, greatness is born. All it takes is time and hard work and definitely you will shine no matter the odds that are against you. Currently Lukaku and his entire family are enjoying the things they lacked in the past, this shows that there are times and seasons just wait and work patiently for your turn.
