Both parties did their best but kudos to the Board of Hearst for calling the player and his management to order. The best way for the leaders of the club is what they are doing with the players.
Afutu got the best offer in his entire career since joining the Ghana top flight league to Hearts of Oak. It is a sign of a good omen to the board and directors of the Continental club masters but a bad statement to the whole team behind Afutu.
We expected a more matured negotiations with the Phobians and Afutu but things got worse when the player became adamant and when the board was yelling for his input in the team.
Coach Samuel Boadu made the list of players to Africa with the midfield dynamo having his name there, but didn’t consider the effort of the team towards his development.
All things been equal the Ghana U20 midfielder Salim Adams have already worn the jersey and warming himself for a better position and do better than what the former Accra Great Olympics player did.
We hope there will be sanity in the camp of the team till they finish the CAF Champions League with this players making Ghana the best.
We need an international recognition which can come from the club side , the supporters of the glorious club in Ghana always say they are going to get the slot back for the country to represent Africa with 4 teams ( 2 for CAF Confederation Cup, 2 for CAF Champions League). As for Afutu the least said the better.
I am sure is not about money but maybe he want a new challenge that’s why he left. He has paid his dues by help us to win the league and the FA Cup which we aim at. Let’s all wish him well for serving the club wholeheartedly.
Hearts of Oak will always remain great in the absence of any player who have made his name by the club. Let the unity come back for us to win over WAC of Morocco in our next match.
