This could be black stars' possible lineup to face Madagascar as well as the Central African Republic in the AFCON qualifiers in June. In this article, I will give you the goalkeepers as well as the defenders that we are expecting to come and play.
Let's start with the goalkeeping side. The first keeper I choose here is Richard Ofori, the reason is he is currently the goalkeeper in the most form we have here in Ghana. This is as he has helped his club Orlando Pirates reach the finals of the CAF Confederations Cup. The second I will go in for will be Joojo Wollacott. He has played most of the recent Black Stars and you could call him the new number 1 and there is no way I don't see him out of his club. He has also won the player of the year award for the league he plays in. The third I pick will be Lawrence Atizigi. The fourth I see in the qualifies will be Manaf Nurudeen.
Let us move to the defending aspect. The first I pick is Dennis Odoi also known as the professor. He has won the league with Club Brugge for the second time. The next will be Leeroy Owusu, we can understand that he was called for the World Cup qualifiers game but because his nationality switch was not done he couldn't represent according to GFA. We hope by now they will be done with the list so he can play. Third on the list will be Enock Kwateng. He plays for a club in France and has been solid for them. Four and five will be Alexander Djiku and Daniel Amartey. They are been in form for their clubs and you can say they are the most in-form defenders in Ghana and they link very well.
Number six will be Abdul Mumin. He plays a club in Portugal and I think Ghana can really benefit from him. He has picked a red card this season but he has been excellent for his club. Next will be Jeffrey Schlupp who plays Crystal Palace alongside Jordan Ayew. We can't tell if he will be called up again by the GFA or not but he will be a great asset to the team. Number eight on the list will be Gideon Mensah. He had a super performance for Ghana in both legs against Nigeria. The ninth will be Joseph Aidoo who plays Celta Vigo and statistically, he will be very good for the Black Stars of Ghana. The last on the list will be Tariq Lamptey as we can understand that he is done with his nationality switch, if he is actually done with the switch he should be made to play.
What do you think of this squad? Is it good or bad?
