Reasons why Legon Cities are unbeaten in their last five matches

After an abysmal start of the season Legon Cities have now found their rhythm back with a good win over Sharks recently. The start of the season was very torrid for the team but after the ‘Royals’ coach Bashiru Hanford who eyed their future and now they are one of the up and coming teams in the league taken people by surprise.


Kofi Owusu and Stephen Amankonah scored for the blues in week 14 of the Ghana Premier League, pushing Chelsea to 3rd on the log with 26points. The game, which got off with lots of physical exchanges, saw Ebenezer Nii Addy picking the first yellow card in the 28th minute while Fadili Yussif and Stephen Tetteh Ayiku also going into the Referees book in the 37th and 62nd minutes respectively, for Legon Cities. Adjei scored the penalty in the second half to settle the tight encounter in favour of Legon Cities, who were without experienced striker Asamoah Gyan. Hans Kwofie continued his impressive form with a brace in a 2-0 win against Elmina Sharks at the Accra Sports Stadium.

The former Medeama SC star wasted no time in settling in the team after scoring in either side of the game to hand the Royals a deserved win.


The striker from Ashgold FC showed what he got by punishing the dismantle Sharks team. This is the time coach Bash has shown that he has coach the striker at his former club Aboakese before. And now his purchase is not in vain but earning him some good, better and best results. Kwoffie who was making his second appearance for the club opened the scoring in the 22nd minute after a spell of dominance.
