Fifa's Warning To Qatar Ahead OF World Cup

The 2022 edition of the most prestigious football competition on earth, the world cup is slated to take place in Qatar. one needs not to be told of the giant and luminary edifices raised in wait for the occasion by the oil-rich nation. You definitely ought to be there if you can to feed your eyes with the aesthetically rich monuments.

Be that as it may, Fifa has issued a fore warning to the official hotels documented to accommodate visitors who will be coming in for the event according report by the guardian. This is an order or warning by Fifa telling these hotels to open their doors wide for gays and lesbian couples or partners who will be coming to them just as they will do to straight sex couples.

What led to this?, as per media reports, journalists from Denmark, Sweden, and Norway posed as gay couples and called several hotels in Qatar to book rooms for their honeymoon. At least three of the 69 FIFA – approved hotels have refused to book rooms for journalists pretending to be same-sex couples. Meanwhile, 20 other hotels on the same list agreed to allow journalists to stay on the condition that they do not disclose their sexual orientation during their time in Qatar. 33 hotels, on the other hand, said they had no problem with same-sex couples staying on their premises.

According to Amnesty International, homosexuality is illegal in Qatar, and same-sex relations can lead to criminal charges and a prison sentence of up to seven years.

Upon the release of the journalists' information, Fifa has won Hotels, as well as any other service provider associated with the Fifa World Cup, who fail to comply with the high standards set by the organisers will have their contracts terminated.”
