Ghanaian Players Only Focus On Money- 1978 African Footballer of the Year Reveals

One of Ghana's best players of all time Karim Abdul Rasak Tanko has added his voice to the reasons why no Ghanaian player was able to make the list of the 30 players that have been shortlisted for the 2022 CAF footballer of the year Award.

Karim Abdul Rasak can be said to be an experienced man in terms football and managing or coaching footballers. He was a former Black Stars player, Asante Kotoko player and New York Cosmos.

And another important thing that is worth knowing is that, he was the 1978 African player of the year. This makes him one of the very few footballers that can talk about what one can do to make the list of CAF footballer of the year award or reasons why some players were not included.

Karim Abdul Rasak Tanko talking on Angel FM revealed that, Ghanaian players currently focus on money and that's why they were not shortlisted for the CAF Footballer of the year.

He said, " Now Ghanaian players only focus on money, that's why they don't recognise by CAF Awards. Their moves and decisions are only about money and not being competitive to be at the top."

The CAF Footballer of the year list has been released and no Ghanaian player was part of it and that made the Asante Kotoko's legend to make the above claims.

African Players such as Sadio Mané, Mohammed Salah, Mahrez and the likes were included to this year's CAF footballer of the year awards.
