Former Hearts Coach Delighted With The Return of Midfielder

Head coach of Real Tamale United, Shaibu Tanko is happy with the return of the club’s talisman, David Abagna Sandan.

The 23-year-old picked a toe injury while on international duty with the senior national team, the Black Stars at the 2021 AFCON in Cameroon this year. He has been out since January following the injury but made a full return last week to coach Shaibu Tanko’s practice. The return culminated in a cameo appearance in RTU’s 2-1 win over league leaders, Asante Kotoko in week 25 at the Aliu Mahama Stadium on Sunday, leaving the head coach on cloud nine about the player’s comeback.

“In fact, he has come back and the coming back, I should think is something that is going to be sustained. “And I believe his sustenance will really push the team to wherever we want to get to.” Shaibu Tanko told StarTimes. The former AshantiGold midfielder bagged 8 goals before injury rocked his season.

The “Northern Blues” are not lying too good on the league log despite starting the 2021/22 campaign on a good note. They sit 15th with 28 points from 25 games and will next play week 26 away to relegation threatened, Elmina Sharks at the Nduom Stadium.
