I need to put in hard work in coach C K Akonnor’s team - Joseph Adjei

Legon Cities FC defender, Joseph Adjei admits there is the need to work hard in order to play regularly for the Black Stars.

Adjei is part of the local players invited by coach Charles Akonnor in a 30-man squad for next month’s international friendlies.

The tall defender wants to work hard to command a starting place in the senior national team.

He is part of the seven locally based players invited for the international assignments.

“The feeling is great, I feel so happy and I’m much grateful to God.

“I can’t say anything different but we are all the same.

“What I will do is to fight hard, keep pushing hard to get there.” Joseph Adjei told Legon Cities TV.

The Black Stars will play Morocco in Rabat on June 8, before taking on Côte d’Ivoire in Cape Coast on June 12.

Ghana is equally preparing for the 2022 FIFA World Cup QUALIFIERS set for September.

Ghana is paired against Ethiopia, South Africa and Zimbabwe.
