Chelsea Manager Thomas Tuchel Reacts To Tottenham's Decision To Sack Jose Mourinho

Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel concedes he was 'astounded' by Tottenham's choice to sack Jose Mourinho and says he 'didn't see it coming'. Mourinho and his training staff were alleviated of their obligations on Monday morning and leave Spurs with the club seventh in the Premier League. Tottenham have persevered through a troublesome season – smashing out of the Europa League a month ago – yet face Manchester City in the EFL Cup last on Sunday.

'Pretty much I'm generally somewhat astonished when it happens [a administrative sacking],' Tuchel said when gotten some information about Mourinho's takeoff. 'We're all contenders and we as a whole attempt to beat each other yet in the end we wish each chief has a decent air and is in a decent state and work environment.

'It never feels great as another chief when somebody is sacked yet it's not my responsibility to remark on that. What will be will be. 'Everyone contends energetically for results and when a significant choice comes this way, it was an amazement. I genuinely didn't see it coming.'
