Friday transfer news LIVE: Messi's contract, Mbappe move, Florentino block Varane, Chelsea and more

Lionel Messi future yet to be decided

Six time ballon d'or winner, Lionel Andres Messi Cuchittini is currently a free agaent and yet to decide his future at Barcelona. Rumours about his move out of Barcelona keeps trickling with Manchester City and Paris Saint-Germain remains the only clubs financial equipped to land the 34 year old. However Barcelona president, Juan Laporta says the club is making arrangements to hand Messi a new contract soon, ruling out any potential club switch.

Kyilian Mbappe has told Paris Saint-Germain he's not extending his contract

Paris Saint-Germain's determination to keep hold of highly rated French star, Kylian Mbappe is proving to be a difficult one, after the 22 year old told the club he won't extend his contract. It is rumoured that Mbappe is keen to join Real Madrid, where he has been linked for the past three years and signing a new contract will put off his dream move to the Los blancos. The 22 year old currently has just a year left on his contract and will leave the club for free next year if not sold this summer. However Mbappe's desire to leave is in sharp contrast with the club president's recent declaration about Mbappe's future.

Nasser Al-Khelaifi divulged few weeks ago that, he wouldn't sell Mbappe to any club and he would not let him go for free. We anticipate a fierce contract battle between both parties in the coming weeks.

Florentino Perez unhappy with Varane's exit links

After sealing the move for Jadon Sancho, Manchester United have reignited their interest for Real Madrid center back, Raphael Varane. The French center back's future at the Spanish capital remains uncertain after stalling contract extension talks with the club. However the club's president, Florentino Perez is desperate to do everything possible to ground the French international, following the departure of Sergio Ramos. Manchester United remain resolute in their pursuit for Varane and have intensified their chase by submitting an initial offer worth £46m to Madrid. Nonetheless Madrid are holding out to their £56m valuation in a bid to price out the Red devils. After coughing up £86m for Sancho, the Red devils are reluctant to make another hefty purchase and may opt of a cheaper alternative if Madrid refuse to reduce the price.

Chelsea to make U-turn Declan Rice

Westham midfielder, Declan Rice was one of the key transfer priorities for Frank Lampard last season, but the club blatantly refused to meet his request following Westham's unyielding stance on Rice's £80m price tag. The blues consequently gave up on the transfer but latest news from English sports outlets claim, Chelsea are set to make a U-turn for their former academy prodigy at the request of Thomas Tuchel. The German coach is reportedly a fan of Declan Rice having monitored his contributions at Westham last season. Chelsea would have to break the bank to seal the move if the hammers continue to hold out to their £80m valuation.

Ramos strikes agreement with Paris Saint-Germain

Former Spain and Real Madrid skipper, Sergio Ramos has opted to join French giants, Paris Saint-Germain after ending his 16 years stay at the Santiago Bernabeu. The 35 year old was declined a chance to extend his stay at the Los Blancos last month resulting in his emotional exit from the club. Ramos received offers form Chelsea, Manchester United, Manchester City and Paris Saint-Germain, however a decision has been made and Ramos would join Paris Saint-Germain on a two year deal.

Liverpool eye move for Domenico Berardi

The Reds continue to monitor Italy and Sassuolo winger, Domenico Berardi as they eye a summer move for the 28 year old. Berardi has already made it clear that it will be a dream come true to seal a move to Liverpool, which appears to be a "come and get me plea". Liverpool continue to weigh their options and have already been linked with moves for wingers like, Kingsley Coman and Otavio Edmilson da Silva Montiero. However news from Liverpool camp suggest a move for Berardi is still possible.

Willian astronomical wage demand block his exit

In a bid to bounce back stronger next season, the Gunners are desperate to give their squad a facelift by making marquee signings and selling fringe players. Brazilian winger, Willian Borges da Silva is one of the players Arsenal is keen to offload, after falling out favour at the club. His performance since joining the Gunners is far disproportionate to his hefty salary at the club and Arsenal is poised to sell him this summer. However his hefty salary remains a stumbling block for his suitors and would have to lower his demands to seal move out of the club.
