RTU shock Asante Kotoko at home in the Ghana Premier League - Match Report

Real Tamale United defeated league leaders Asante Kotoko 1-0 at the Aliu Mahama Sports Stadium on Sunday afternoon in the Ghana Premier League.

Asante Kotoko's goals could not rescue them, as Roland Frimpong and Victor Aidoo's goals were enough to help the host earn the three points.

Real Tamale United took the lead against league leaders Asante Kotoko from the penalty spot at the Aliu. The home team battled hard to break the game's deadlock by exposing the Porcupine Warriors' defense.

The host nabbed Frank Mbella Etuoga, the league's top scorer, preventing him from tying the game with a fast move.

From the chances that came their way, Asante Kotoko could not find the back of the net.

The Porcupine Warriors returned to the game after the halftime break on a high note, unleashing a series of attacks on the host defense, but the last balls to the sharpest foot upfront were not enough to pin down the host's defense.

Cameroonian sharpshooter Frank Mbella Etuoga pulled one back from the spot kick for the Porcupine Warriors after Victor Aidoo had doubled the lead for the Pride of the North.

The host fought hard to keep the scoreline until the final whistle was blown.
