Joseph Amoah edges closer to a Gold Medal.

Ghana's 200m record holder, Joseph Paul Amoah has qualified for the semi finals stage of the 200m men's event at the ongoing Olympic Games in Tokyo-Japan.

The Ghanaian sprinter currently ranked 71st on the world ranking ran in the 200m dash at the 2020 Olympic Games earlier on Tuesday morning. The sprinter, who’s a 8x National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) All American National 200m record holder, ran in Round 1 of the men’s Heat 7.

Joseph Amoah placed third in the race, in a time of 20.35 seconds (Seasons best time)

American sprinter Lyles Noah finished first in the heat with 20.18 seconds, followed by Matsenjwa Sibususo of Eswatini clocking 20.34 seconds.

The Coppin State University track and field star, Joseph Amoah edges closer to his dream of winning a gold medal. 

The 24 year old will have just a few hours to rest before the semi-final comes off at 11:50 GMT later today (Tuesday).
