Thomas Partey Calls On Ghanaians To Support Black Stars For Afcon Title

Black Stars and Arsenal midfielder Thomas Partey has called on Ghanaians to keep supporting the Black Stars, to be able to win the African Cup of Nations next year. 

The workaholic midfielder believes there is the need for the entire populace to relax and support the team to perform at Afcon

He however acknowledged that, the team has to prepare adequately in order to overcome opponents and lift the ultimate. 

The Black Stars of Ghana - led by coach Charles Akonnor - has been tasked to win The African Cup of Nations next year. Government is hoping to meet the financial demands for executing the Afcon winning target.

“I think all this expectation start from our preparations. We have to prepare for Afcon. Through hard work everything is possible. They have to relax and keep supporting us.” He told Joy Sports. 

Speaking on his debut season at Arsenal, the former Atletico Madrid player revealed, they aimed to win matches in the season but some positive and negative lessons were derived in the end. 

“The positive one are the games we won and the negatives one are the game we lost. We want to win and be at the best.”

Thomas Partey expressed elation and appreciation for where he finds himself, and a readiness to play more matches in subsequent campaigns. 

“I wanted to play so I give my all. I am grateful and happy to be at where I am now.”

The deputy Black Stars captain has plans for the upcoming players. There is the need to give out the best to budding talent, but that will involve hard work. He looks forward to providing avenues for upcoming players. 

“I think getting the young ones to follow you and do what you want, we have to work hard and give them our best.”
