Daniel Afriyie Barnieh’s upward adjustment in performance for Hearts of Oak this season is something that needs applause.

The 20-year-old grabbed a brace in Hearts’ 3-0 derby win over Accra Lions in week 26 on Friday at the Accra Sports Stadium. The double, puts the 2021 AFCON U-20 winner on seven goals this season and at par with teammate, Kofi Kordzi on the scorers chart. Barnieh’s performance against Accra Lions earned him an MVP and he talks about how the squad executed the victorious plan.

“When we played our last game, it didn’t go well and we went back to the drawing board and sat down and corrected our mistakes. “We told ourselves we were not going to play the same game again, we applied it today and it was well today,” Afriyie Barnieh told StarTimes. “I’ve been practicing before and after training so I will say I will thanks to coach [Samuel] Boadu.” He added.

Hearts of Oak are now 4th on the 2021/22 Ghana Premier League table with 40 points from 26 games. They will host Dreams FC in week 27 on Sunday, May 1 at the Accra Sports Stadium.
