Ugandan striker Mukwala, pens emotional goodbye message to URA FC as he nears move to Asante Kotoko

Soon to be Asante Kotoko player Steven Mukwala has penned an emotional goodbye message to his former club Uganda Revenue Authority, (URA) FC in his home country.

In a short message to the club, the striker said he feels proud to have been a part of the project for the last two years in the Ugandan Premier League.

"I shared the dressing room with the most talented players in Uganda. But above all, I was able to work with great instructors, coaches and profound management", Mukwala wrote in a Facebook post.

He added: "Saying goodbye is always the hardest thing for me. But, I guess it's time to move on. I leave with heartfelt gratitude. It was such a privilege to wear the yellow and blue jersey. Forever, you will be in my heart."

Mukwala, arrived in Ghana on Monday and, has today, completed his medicals with Asante Kotoko ahead of his unveiling.

The striker, will put pen-to-paper on a two-year deal with the Porcupines ahead of the start of the 2022/23 Ghana football season.

In three seasons playing in the Ugandan Premier League, Mukwala scored 40 goals for Maroons FC and URA FC, prompting the Ghana champions to move for his signature to help their course.

Kotoko will look to defend the GPL title they won last season and also compete in the FA Cup competition as well as the CAF Champions League next season and, expects the Ugandan international to play a key role.
