Karela host the league leaders in week five of the 2021/22 Ghana Premier League at the Crosby Awuah Memorial Park on Sunday. Having clocked five points from their four opening games of the season, the Anyinase based club will want to consolidate their top four chase with a home win against Kotoko who have a hundred percent start with four straight wins.
Bismark Kobby Mensah is Karela United head coach: “So far the preparations are going on well. “After today[Thursday] we have another training session before the Kotoko game. “Seriously because of how we lost the Medeama game made the players worried. “But we have been able to psyche them up that it’s part of the game. “Some of the issues that happen are beyond the players and the technical team. “But I can say that we are ready [against Kotoko]. We have our last training session [Friday November 26]. “I can tell you that we are ready for the game even though our preparation is not fully complete.” Bismark Kobby Mensah told media men.
Karela produced a 1-1 score line at home to Aduana Stars and away to AshantiGold in weeks one and two before squeezing their first three points in a 2-1 victory at home to former champions, Berekum Chelsea in the third week. Medeama however stopped Karela in their track after pinning them down to a 2-0 defeat in week four at the Akoon Park in Tarkwa.
