The world of football has been dominated in the last decade by Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo. Both players have shown consistency by scoring important goals and winning trophies with their respective teams.
Cristiano Ronaldo was hailed by many sports pundits and football lovers as the greatest player of all time when he managed to win an international cup for his country, Portugal. Messi on the other hand was mocked for his inability to win any international cup for Argentina. In a period of one year, Messi has won the COPA America trophy and the Finalissima. After they were able to trash Italy by three goals to nill to win the prestigious cup, can we conclude that he is the greatest footballer of all time ahead of Ronaldo and the rest?
