The 2021/2022 edition of the UEFA champions league is gradually drawing to a conclusion. The semifinalists have been determined. English and Spanish teams have dominated the competition this season and it is no surprise to many that all the 4 semifinal teams are from England and Spain. Manchester City and Liverpool are representing the English contingent whereas Villareal and Real Madrid are from Spain.
Real Madrid will play Manchester City and Liverpool will battle Villareal in the semifinals respectively. It is also likely that we might have either 2 Spanish teams or 2 English teams in the finals. Whatever happens a team from either of these 2 countries will be in the finals. It is becoming clear that teams from this 2 countries will continue to dominate the competition for many years to come. No one knows how the other countries are going to catch up. Every player now dreams of playing in England or Spain. I am rooting for an all English teams final just like it happened few years ago.
